Born in U.K, having grown up in South Korea, Hong Kong and Chicago, Jin Hoon Chung a.k.a Twelvnd is a digital artist with a wide array of interests in modern art to design, and computer graphic tools. With unique backgrounds and passion for aesthetic and musical experience, Twelvnd wants to contribute to a digital art form that essentially provide an experience of wonder and emotion. Twelvnd creates video artworks inspired by colors, numbers, and digital algorithms based on laws of nature. Each piece unfolds a stylized visual exploration within and around a frame. Twelvnd conceives of an idea by notebook sketching and experimentations on VFX tools: SideFX Houdini. Once a particular theme is selected, the artist then instills attributes onto particles — colors, density, gravity. These data types serve as basis for the artist to art direction and control the rhythm, composition and speed to evoke a feeling of mystery. Also, the artist composes music at the end of the process to bring the emotion alive through the whole artwork.
