Description
We can observe different shades of grey, which remind us of the notion of time, different eras, as well as the variety of cultures, backgrounds, and skin colors. We also see buildings forming kind of a city around the portrait, a city in which all its differences must evolve and grow. Some (like the artist) are more of a maverick and are stuck between the society’s traditional way of evolving/thinking (straight, correct, happy, beautiful, and colorful) and their desire to share their own vision of things. The deep look on the face shows this fear of expressing themselves and daring to go beyond the limits imposed by tradition and society through time.
