Statement artwork: Wave / Dare is a typical example of what and how Pål Török paints. Often from the sea or ocean, and often reflecting change. Waves can travel thousands of miles before meeting land. The waveform moves, but the individual water molecules only move in a circular motion, so that the energy can be transferred to the water in front. When the wave has passed, the water molecule remains in the same place as before. The water molecule sends the wave on but remains as before. The wave may have been created by the wind, long ago and far away. But the memory of the wind is passed on by each individual water molecule. When the depths quickly become shallower, the wave breaks. It breaks when the water depth is less than 1.3 times the wave height. After the wave breaks, it still moves forward. Like an unstoppable force. If the wave were human, it would not be a coward. But brave.
