Bio

Lydia is a Greek artist currently located in Athens, Greece. Image creation has been an ultimate passion for her ever since she was a little girl: styling, photography, writing, and painting helped her create a safe space whenever the outside environment felt unknown or too much. At the age of 8, she tried to draw her first clothing line, at the age of 11 she wrote her first book, at the age of 14 she dug into photography. A truly restless and charmingly imbalanced artistic spirit. And this little journey brings us to the age of 27 passionately devoting herself to painting.
As my art is a way of expression as well as a defense mechanism for me, I am self-taught but very eager to unravel the endless knowledge and feelings that hide inside art. I am currently mainly influenced by society’s norms and basic psychology knowledge to create images of female figures. I wish to express my feeling of oppression and to help -through my art- decrease or even eliminate the objectification of the female body and the female energy. From the bottom of my heart, I wish those paintings help me through my healing journey as your healing journey. Let’s us day by day, with every little red stroke establish a ground of respect and worship towards women. Let’s accept the natural beauty of them as we would do with a great sunset: breathe it in, stare bewitched, and then by the time we exhale we close our eyes to make sure this image will stay with us forever. I have carefully selected all of the colors that remind me of sunsets to all of my paintings just to make that last thing eventually happens. Thank you, L
