She is a self-taught artist with studies in Architecture at Finis Terrae University (1994-1997, San-tiago, Chile), she currently lives and works in Santiago, Chile. He has had solo and group exhibi-tions in Chile.

Magdalena Rojas investigates and explores the materials she uses, mostly of organic origin (porcelain, wax, paper, wood, veneer or painting, among others). The approach to these mate-rials is established through a close bodily relationship: painting, folding, cutting or kneading, revealing the subtle traces of the manual in each of her works. Using geometry as an exploratory mean is the common denominator that underlies the abstract result of these analyzes. The inten-tion of establishing a point of conciliation between opposites seems to be a constant in her work. Items such as the organic and the geometric, the opaque and the bright, the flat and the volumetric illusion are contrasted with the intention of remembering and making visible the dual and oppositional character present in the world we inhabit and the challenge posed by the need to find a balance.
