Ryu is an artist also engaged in architectural design, approaching each project throughout his career through the lens of inspiration and imagination.

At a young age, he encountered an artist whose expressive power left a profound impression on him. Deeply moved by that experience, he developed a strong desire to become an artist himself. From that moment on, he began to channel the sensibility cultivated through architectural design into the creation of artworks.

The world we live in is filled with countless events and complexities. Through his art, Ryu seeks to create spaces that bring joy, healing, and a sense of wonder, immersive, fantastical worlds born from continuous inspiration.

While he initially explored various forms of expression, he eventually chose to focus on dreamlike landscapes featuring dolphins and whales as central motifs. These elements allow him to construct soothing, imaginative environments that offer emotional relief.

Ryu hopes that his works, when displayed in a space, can provide comfort to those who encounter them, especially in moments of fatigue or concern. He continuously reflects on how to move the viewer and evoke genuine emotion. At the same time, the creative process itself brings him joy, as new ideas emerge through inspiration, encouraging an ongoing and prolific artistic practice.
