Anne-Gaëlle ELIE is a French artist, born in 1975. Her artistic career is rooted in literature, a subject she taught for over 10 years. Her passion for words fuses with her love for movement, which she expressed on stage in theatre, dance and music. These different art forms are now found on paper, in her acrylic and felt pen artwork. At the crossroads of calligraphy, street art, stained glass art and surrealism, her style is a conquest of freedom, a way to make the soul and the body resonate and vibrate in unison and then explode in fantastical fireworks display. Her pen strokes, intuitive and spontaneous, are a quest for the refinement and the elegance of the drawn line. In her work, she seeks to awaken the surprise meaning, the sense that emerges from the visual objects she creates. Through her work, she invites the viewer to rediscover childlike wonder, and the possibilities that are offered to the beholder: as one can find while looking up to the clouds in the sky.
