Bio

U-ku BIO My name is U-ku and I was born in 1989 in Japan. In 2012 I graduated from Kobe College, School of Letters. After working as an office worker, I continued to create artworks by self-taught. Artist activities started since 2016 in earnest. Currently, I mainly work as a solo exhibition as a watercolor artist. The main theme of my art is to be “emotional support”. I’m not good at expressing feelings into words. So I think that my artworks would like to be “emotional support” of people with the same feelings, and create artworks on the theme of “the world of mind”. When I was in elementary school, I often moved because of the work of my parents. Just once, I moved to America. From that, I realized the difficulty of making feelings into words. Of course there were language difficulties, but it was due to cultural differences and the natural differences between people. After graduated from college, and work as an office worker in Japan, the feeling cannot be erased. I don’t know what is the best way to express my feelings into words even now. However, I was able to be honest only in the art. And I thought that I want to be some help for someone who have the same feeling. Even if you are smiling face-to-face, you are crying in your heart, and even if you try hard and act strongly, your heart feels limited. If you have such a feeling, I would like you to be in front of my picture and talk softly with yourself honestly.
